Verb to Be in Past (Was or Were)

El verbo to be es un verbo irregular, como se puede ver en sus formas en past simple (was or were) se pueden traducir por: yo fui / estuve / era / estaba, tú fuiste / estuviste / eras / estabas, etc.

Usamos was or were para indicar acciones que sucedieron en el pasado y que terminaron alli.

GRAMMATICAL RULES

Vocabulary - Past tense expressions

• Yesterday:

Yesterday, I went to the beach with my friend.

• The other day:

The other day Peter came over and we had a chat about our trip to Paris.

• Last week, last month, last year

Last week, the teacher explained us the use and form of the past simple.

Last month, I went to The Script concert .

Last year, the museum had a great exhibition.

• When (+ un momento concreto)

We started practice football together and becoming an item when we were in college.

• Ago (para cuando hablas de una cierta cantidad de tiempo)

I worked in that bakery two years ago

• In (+ año)

I moved to Germany in 2001.

Estas expresiones de tiempo sólo las puedes usar con el past simple.
