Para la relación entre dos variables <b>x </b>e <b>y</b> suele escribirse como: <b>y</b> = m<b>x</b> + b, llamada generalmente la forma estandar, como se muestra en la anterior figura.</p><p>En el siguiente diagrama, recordando la forma de representar las relaciones entre variables que hemos trabajado en sexto y séptimo grado, podemos representarla como sigue. Al lado izquierdo se representan los pasos que sirven para hallar el valor de <b>y</b> cuando nos dan <b>x</b> (método directo); al lado derecho encontramos los pasos a realizar para hallar <b>x</b>, cuando nos dan <b>y</b> (método inverso). </p><p style="text-align: justify;" rel="text-align: justify;">Esta función servirá como modelo de aquellos fenómenos en los que es posible encontrar que las variables relacionadas estén elevadas al exponente 1 y que tienen una pendiente que siempre es constante; o sea, que siempre aumenta lo mismo en <b>x</b> en relación con lo que aumenta en <b>y</b>.<br></p><p><strong><span style="font-size: 20px;">Videos de clase</span></strong></p><p>Para abordar esta secuencia, desarrollaremos diversas actividades.
